Common gas boiler faults.
As your boiler gets older is more likely to develop faults due to wear and tear even if the gas boiler has been serviced every year.
No hot water.
If your gas boiler is not giving hot water or the water is running hot and cold this could be caused by a blocked heat plate exchanger.
Radiators not getting hot but boiler firing up.
If all your radiators are not working but the boiler is firing up this could be a problem with air in the heating system so the first step is to bleed the radiators to see if that resolves the problem.
If the heating system radiators are only getting hot at the top and not the bottom with could be caused by sludge in the heating system and sitting on the bottom of the radiators and may require a fully heating power flush.
Pressure drops on combination boiler.
If your gas boiler keeps losing pressure and stops working and you have to keep filling up this could be caused by a leak on the central heating system, or something has failed inside the boiler you will need to get a qualified gas safe engineers to take took and diagnose this problem.
Frozen condense pipe.
during the winter months its very common for gas boiler to stop working because the condense pipe has blocked up ideally the condense pipe should run inside to a waste outlet so it not out in the elements but if that’s not possible then make sure its well-insulated to try and prevent it from freezing up.
Boiler after care.
Once your gas boiler has been repaired and everything is working properly, we offer a yearly reminder service to get your gas boiler serviced this may prevent it breaking down in the future and giving you high repair bills. Its recommended you have your gas boiler serviced every 12 months.
